China condemns Taiwan President Lai’s remarks, reaffirms opposition to independence

Zhang Han, a spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular news conference that Lai’s remarks and actions cannot change the historical and legal fact that Taiwan is part of China’s territory, nor can they stop the inevitable historical trend of reunification.
