Keep paddy bunds firm and unbroken; repair rat holes and weeds on bund tops. Maintain field outlets and side drains one hand wide and one palm deep to empty sudden showers. Nursery/Seedbed: keep on raised beds 20–30 cm (about ankle height); mulch edges with dry rice straw to limit splash. Land prep/Transplant/Direct seeding: keep seed and tools on platforms about one palm above the floor; avoid sowing in the lowest pockets. Vegetative/Tillering: keep a shallow water layer 3–5 cm (about one to two fingers) and drain temporarily after heavy shower to avoid scum. Reproductive/Flowering to Grain fill: maintain 3-5 cm water (one to two fingers); avoid deep water that leans stems. Harvest on firm ground; keep sacks on pallets. Pest & Disease Early Warning No elevated pest or disease risk for the next 10 days. Keep field borders clean; remove volunteer rice and grassy weeds on bunds within one pace to reduce pest carry-over. Nursery/Seedbed: use clean seed; remove sick trays. Vegetative/Tillering: keep 3–5 cm water (one to two fingers) to discourage some pests; avoid late-day overhead watering from pumps that splash mud onto leaves. Reproductive/Flowering: avoid wetting panicles; irrigate at inlets gently. Collect and destroy rat-damaged tillers and panicles; set community trap lines along bunds where possible. After harvest, plough in or remove crop residues; compost away from the field. Clean tools with soapy water.
