Bangkok hospital delegation visits Karachi

KARACHI: A distinguished medical delegation from Bangkok Hospital, Thailand, visited Karachi from June 18-22, 2026, to strengthen healthcare collaboration, foster knowledge exchange, and showcase Bangkok Hospital’s advanced treatment capabilities and specialized healthcare services. The delegation included Dr. Ekkit Surakarn, Deputy Hospital Director and General & Trauma Surgeon and Dr. Sorasakdi Vechmamontien, internationally recognized Spine Surgeon & Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS) Specialist. Dr. Ekkit, is a leader in robotic-assisted surgery and trauma care. With extensive experience in emergency surgical interventions, he provides advanced safer procedures and faster recovery outcomes through innovative minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Sorasakdi is renowned for his pioneering work in MISS, helping patients achieve faster recovery, reduced pain, and improved mobility. His expertise spans complex spinal disorders, advanced pain management, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in spine care. The Bangkok Hospital team visited Liaquat National Hospital, they were received by Prof. Syed Shahid Noor – the Head of Orthopaedic Department along with his team. The team visited different departments of LNH, Dr. Ekkit gave a presentation about the services of Bangkok Hospital and examined complicated cases in the OPD. The team also visited Aga Khan University and held discussions with the Dean Prof. Karim Damji, Dr. Junaid Razzaq – Head of Center of Excellence – Trauma & Emergency, and other departmental heads for healthcare collaboration. The visit was organized in collaboration with Dr. Abid Abbas Sheikh, Catapult Pakistan Team, and the support from Badar Expo Solutions and Getz Pharma, aiming to foster long-term partnerships between healthcare institutions in Thailand and Pakistan. Dr. Ekkit Surakarn said that, “they are honored to be in Karachi and to share our expertise with Pakistani colleagues. He also added that their goal is to enhance patient outcomes through advanced surgical care and minimally invasive techniques. ” Bangkok Hospital and Catapult Pakistan are working toward formal agreements to expand patient access to international consultations and advanced treatment options.
