Balochistan decides to send Dr Mahnoor abroad for treatment

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to send Dr Mahnoor Nasir abroad for medical treatment on the instructions of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. A formal letter for overseas treatment has been issued and the government has begun the necessary arrangements, Balochistan Chief Minister’s spokesperson Shahid Rind said. Dr Mahnoor Nasir is currently receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi, he added. Rind said Dr Mahnoor Nasir would be sent to the United States for further specialised treatment. He said the injured doctor is being provided with the best available medical facilities. It is pertinent to note that Dr Mahnoor Nasir sustained serious injuries after an acid attack at Sandeman Provincial Hospital in Quetta, according to police. The victim was initially shifted to a private hospital after the attack took place in the general surgery ward of the facility.
