Awareness session held on e-vehicles sector

ISLAMABAD: The Energy Conservation Fund of the National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (NEECA), under the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), organised an interactive stakeholder awareness session on the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) and Battery Swapping Stations (BSS) Regulations, 2024. The session focused on the regulatory framework, registration process, and facilitation measures for establishing EV charging infrastructure and battery swapping stations across Pakistan. The event was chaired by the Managing Director of the Energy Conservation Fund, who also serves as Additional Secretary-III, Ministry of Energy (Power Division). It brought together representatives from government organizations, regulatory authorities, distribution companies (Discos), K-Electric, industry, investors, academia, and development partners to discuss the implementation framework for EV charging infrastructure. Addressing participants, the Managing Director emphasised that the promotion of electric mobility is a key priority of the Government of Pakistan under the vision of the prime minister. He reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a safe, reliable, and investor-friendly EV charging ecosystem to support the country’s transition towards sustainable transportation and clean energy.
