Arabian Sea: Navy seizes drugs worth USD96m

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK, while deployed in the Arabian Sea, conducted two successful counter-narcotics operations at extended ranges from Pakistani coast resulting in successful seizure of a large cache of narcotics. During the operations, two dhows were intercepted, and approximately 850 kg of ice and 2000 kg of hashish/cannabis were recovered from concealed compartments inside the vessels. The seized narcotics, valued at approximately USD 96 million, were taken into custody and will subsequently be handed over to concerned authorities for further disposal and legal proceedings. These successful operations reflect Pakistan Navy’s sustained presence, vigilance, and unwavering commitment to regional maritime security and the fight against illicit trafficking at sea.
