Published in the Journal of Dentistry, the study found that AI-assisted analysis of 3D dental scans detected significantly more cases of clinically important tooth wear than conventional dental examinations, raising hopes that earlier diagnosis could help prevent pain, tooth sensitivity, and costly restorative treatments. A common but often overlooked dental problem Erosive tooth wear is a progressive condition caused by acid exposure and mechanical factors such as tooth grinding and brushing.
