Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (SAW) today

LAHORE: Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (SAW) the birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is being celebrated on Wednesday (today) with great religious fervour and solemnity. The day will dawn with thirtyone-gun salute in the Federal Capital and a twenty-one-gun salute in all provincial capitals. It will be a public holiday on Wednesday. Special prayers will be offered after the Fajr prayer for unity of the Muslim Ummah and the progress and prosperity of the country. The main event of the day will be the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference to be held in the Federal Capital on Wednesday. READ ALSO: Pakistan announces public holiday on August 26 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi Milad processions will be taken out in all cities in which Ulema and Khateeb will highlight all aspects of life of Prophet Muhammad Sallallah-o-Alaih-e-Wasallam, stressing adherence to his teachings and Sunnah. Streets, roads, buildings, mosques and houses have been decorated with green buntings, flags, colourful lights to mark this auspicious occasion. Vendors have set up colourful stalls with a unique collection of badges, stickers, flags and banners inscribed with religious slogans to pay respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) across the country. Federal and provincial governments have prepared contingency security plans with coordination of other law enforcement agencies to guard the processions and other events to be held on the day. Strict monitoring of the main procession — through Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras is part of the security plan. Parking vehicles on the route of the procession will be prohibited. The faithful would be checked with metal detectors and walk-through gates would be installed at the entry points of the processions. The Horticulture Agency Lahore has completed the city’s beautification and illumination arrangements ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. As per directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, major roads and prominent locations across the provincial capital, including Liberty Chowk, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Ferozepur Road, Mall Road, Mughalpura, Dharampura and other key routes, have been decorated with beautiful electric lights and illuminated monuments. Managing Director Horticulture Agency Lahore Ahmed Usman Javed said that the city’s decoration work had been completed through the dedicated efforts of Horticulture Agency Lahore workers, who worked day and night to make the arrangements successful. He said that messages related to Eid Milad-un-Nabi are also being displayed on SMDs and LED screens at various locations across the city. Ahmed Usman Javed said that illuminated monuments installed at major roads, intersections and prominent locations have become a special attraction for citizens.
