Lessons learnt from Climate Finance Units (CFUs) across the world: best practices for Nepal

Maximise strategic positioning within the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to foster cross-ministerial coordination, especially with the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE). 2. Formalise the CFU as a Climate Finance Division with Cabinetapproved mandate and governance. 3. Expand and professionalise staffing, integrating civil servants and planning for long-term budget support. 4. Invest in capacity building and institutionalise knowledge through toolkits and onboarding resources. 5. Engage across all tiers of government and include relevant non-government stakeholders in consultations, leveraging and improving existing multi-stakeholder platforms. 6. Increase international visibility to attract climate finance investments and donor interest and, 7. Proactively engage with and benefit from peer learning platforms.
