Dar reviews sugar reserves

ISLAMABAD: After a thorough review of the data presented on provincial and national sugar reserves, the federal government has expressed satisfaction over the overall availability and supply position of the commodity, warning against artificial hoarding and price hikes. A high-level meeting held here on Saturday with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, in the chair, reviewed sugar reserves across the country to ensure price stability for consumers. Speaking on the occasion, DPM/FM reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of sugar at affordable prices. He stressed that the government will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against hoarding, speculation, and artificial price hikes. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary, Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Member FBR, and senior federal and provincial officials.
