ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States (US). According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the Bahraini foreign minister commended Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the Islamabad MoU and expressed confidence that the agreement would help promote lasting peace and stability in the region. Dar thanked his Bahraini counterpart for his warm sentiments and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to sustainable peace and stability in the region and beyond. The two foreign ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation on issues of mutual interest, it added.
