The Sindh Assembly approved the Rs3. 562 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 by a majority vote, along with the Finance Bill, after rejecting opposition amendments. The House also approved a supplementary budget of Rs273 billion for the current fiscal year. The opposition had submitted 300 cut motions against 88 supplementary budget demands. All cut motions were rejected, and the Assembly approved the demands for funds. Opposition members also moved cut motions against funds allocated for the National Games. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah opposed the motion, saying the Chief of Defence Forces was the special guest at the event. A cut motion against funds for the film My Lyari was also rejected. The chief minister said Sindh was the first province to make a film and added that it showed the positive face of the province. The House also approved the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation budget for the current year by a majority vote. After the passage of the budget, supplementary demands and Finance Bill, the Sindh Assembly session was prorogued indefinitely. Reporter: Aajiz Jamali
