Law enforcement agencies in Karachi claimed to have averted a major terror threat after arresting three suspected militants during a joint operation in the city’s Lyari area. According to officials, the operation was carried out by intelligence agencies in coordination with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). The suspects are believed to be affiliated with a banned outfit identified as “Fitna al-Hindustan. ” Authorities said the arrests were made during a targeted raid, and weapons were recovered from the suspects, including a 30-bore pistol and 18 rounds of ammunition. During initial interrogation, the suspects reportedly made key disclosures, revealing plans to carry out a major attack in Karachi. Officials described the operation as a significant success, stating that timely action helped prevent potential large-scale destruction in the city. Further investigation is underway.
