Navy, PCG foil major smuggling attempt in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy (PN) and Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have foiled a major smuggling attempt in Balochistan’s Pishukan area, seizing a large quantity of liquor and illegal medicines during a joint intelligence-based operation. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) following actionable intelligence regarding the movement of contraband items. The joint operation resulted in the confiscation of a sizeable quantity of liquor and illegal medicines. The seized items were subsequently handed over to Pakistan Coast Guard for further legal proceedings. The ISPR said the successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of inter-agency coordination in countering smuggling and preventing the use of Pakistan’s maritime and land territories for illicit activities. It further reaffirmed the resolve of the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards to strengthen anti-smuggling efforts and safeguard the country’s maritime interests through coordinated intelligence-based operations.
