19 terrorists killed in IBOs in Quetta, Kech

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 19 terrorists in multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan’s Quetta and Kech districts, while a Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire. According to the military’s media wing, security forces launched a clearance operation in the general area of Shaban, District Quetta, on September 21 following intelligence reports regarding the presence of multiple hideouts of Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan, posing a threat to the local population. During the ongoing operation, security forces effectively engaged and cleared several terrorist hideouts. Following intense exchanges of fire, 13 terrorists have been killed so far, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the cleared hideouts. The ISPR said the clearance operation would continue until the threat in the area was completely neutralized. Meanwhile, in separate pre-emptive IBOs conducted on September 22 and 23 in District Kech and Quetta West, security forces killed six more terrorists following intense exchanges of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operations. During the engagements, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, a resident of Taunsa Sharif, District Dera Ghazi Khan, embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists. The ISPR reaffirmed that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam, ” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.
