12th Rabi-ul-Awwal: KE announces loadshedding exemption in certain areas

KARACHI: K-Electric (KE) has announced loadshedding exemption for certain areas across its network territory to facilitate religious activities during 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. Across Karachi, 355 feeders across the city have been declared for high priority exemptions in areas where religious gatherings are expected to take place. Included among these are feeders categorised as 158 ‘Very High Loss’, 109 ‘High Loss’ and 88 ‘Medium Loss’ categories. These would otherwise have been scheduled for loadshedding based on the respective area loss profile. The utility’s operational teams will remain alert, further supported by additional technical resources to ensure prompt response and resolution of any network-related faults or emergency situations. KE encourages the public to exercise caution around electricity infrastructure, particularly overhead power lines and urges everyone to maintain a safe distance from electrical installations to help ensure a safe and peaceful observance. Customers can continue utilising KE’s 24/7 helpline, digital platforms for convenient access to services, including bill payments, complaint registration, outage information, and account management through the KE Live App, WhatsApp service, and official social media channels.
