World: Global Weather Hazards Summary March 26, 2026 – April 1, 2026

Abnormal heat hazards are present in portions of Southern Africa, Central Asia, Central America, and Northern Central America. Africa Weather Hazards Flooding continues over many areas of Eastern Africa and Southern Africa. 1. Inundation continues in the Sudd wetlands of northern South Sudan. 2. Central and western Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) experience dryness. Drought occurs in western and central Angola. 3. Dryness strengthens across much of Madagascar. 4. Flooding and landslides have occurred over parts of Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and northwestern Madagascar. Above-average rainfall is forecast over Morocco, northwestern Algeria, eastern DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, central and southwestern Angola, and northeastern South Africa, maintaining high flooding risks over many local areas. 5. Hot conditions are likely in southern Namibia and southwestern Madagascar.
