Country: Timor-Leste Source: European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations On 23 March, the Oecusse Special Administrative Region in East Timor has been affected by heavy rain and resultant flooding, causing displacement and damage. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as of 25 March, reports of 282 people displaced and a total of 475 people affected in Cunha, Naimeco, Bobocase villages (Oecusse). It also reports that 27 houses have been destroyed, several houses have been damaged, and water wells have been contaminated. According to the IFRC, 40 households are still remaining in the dedicated evacuation centre, while two families are staying with relatives. Over the next 48 hours, additional moderate rain is forecast across the country.
