LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has intensified its campaign against electricity theft, detecting multiple illegal connections in the provincial capital and initiating legal proceedings against those involved. According to the LESCO officials, an anti-theft operation was carried out in Sattu Katla village, where more than 35 electricity connections were inspected. During the crackdown, seven connections were found to be involved in power theft through direct supply lines, they disclosed. The department has issued detection bills amounting to approximately 11, 500 units to the consumers found guilty of theft. Additionally, illegal installations, including cables, electricity meters, and a low-tension (LT) line, were removed on the spot. Officials said that legal action against the accused is under way. The LESCO authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continuing indiscriminate action against electricity theft in accordance with the law. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
