KP PDMA issues rain alert

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert forecasting rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from March 25 to 30. All district administrations have been directed to take precautionary measures in view of the expected weather conditions. According to PDMA, a westerly weather system is likely to enter the province on the night of March 24 and persist until March 31. Under its influence, rain and snowfall in mountainous regions are expected in districts including Swat, Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Abbottabad. In the plains, including Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Kurram and Waziristan, rain accompanied by strong winds is also likely. Intermittent heavy rainfall is expected across the province from March 28 to 30, with chances of hailstorms at isolated locations. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
