Country: Italy Source: European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations An earthquake of magnitude 4. 0 ML and a depth of 11 km occurred between the provinces of Massa Carrara (Tuscany region) and La Spezia (Liguria region) on 25 March at 07: 13 UTC (08: 13 local time). The epicentre was located about 3 km north‐east of Fosdinovo in the province of Massa Carrara and roughly 6 km north‐west of Castelnuovo di Magra in the province of La Spezia. According to media reports, schools were closed on 25 March in the province of La Spezia, in Carrara, Seravezza and Pietrasanta towns. Structural damage was reported to several buildings, notably a post‐office building in the village of Romito Magra (La Spezia province). The quake was also felt in the city of Genoa.
