Airfares surge as jet fuel prices rise amid Middle East war

Airfares in Pakistan have risen sharply as escalating tensions in the Middle East drive up global jet fuel prices, prompting airlines to impose new surcharges. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has increased fares by imposing fuel surcharges ranging from $10 to $100, according to aviation sources. The fare hike comes as prolonged regional conflict disrupts energy markets, pushing up fuel costs and impacting the aviation sector globally.
