Petrol price hiked by 39 paise, HSD’s by Rs2.40

ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) raised the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by 39 paise and Rs2. 40 per litre, respectively, amid rising international oil prices effective from August 25. Under the revised rates, petrol will cost Rs341. 98 per litre, while HSD will be priced at Rs370. 69 per litre. The authority has been publishing daily petroleum prices on its website to improve transparency and allow changes in international oil prices to be passed on to consumers more quickly. Dealer margins are fixed at Rs 9. 98 per litre on the both products, Petroleum Levy on both the products are now Rs 80 per litre each. Customs duty has maintained at Rs 20 per litre for petrol and Rs 15. 68 per litre for HSD. Climate Support Levy (CSL) has been held steady at Rs 5 per litre for both fuels. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) margins remain unchanged at Rs 7. 87 across both products. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
