Countries: Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Canada Source: Humanitarian Coalition With support from generous Canadians and the Government of Canada, our members are reaching more than 40, 000 people with critical assistance After back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, Canadians rallied to support people affected through the Humanitarian Coalition’s Venezuela Earthquake Response. With the Government of Canada’s matching fund, the appeal raised more than $7. 5 million from June 25 to July 14, 2026. “We’re very moved by the generosity of Canadians,” said Tiffany Baggetta, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Coalition. “Every dollar given and every dollar matched will help our members deliver life-saving relief to families affected by the Venezuela earthquakes. We’re extremely grateful to our donors, our community and media partners, and the Government of Canada for standing with communities as they continue to face the devastating impacts of displacement and destruction. ” In temporary camps and affected communities, the Humanitarian Coalition’s 12 member organizations are working tirelessly to provide essential support, such as: Emergency food assistance for families living in temporary shelters and other affected communities. Safe water, sanitation and hygiene services, including water trucking, handwashing stations, water treatment supplies and hygiene promotion activities. Shelter and essential household items, such as shelter kits, mattresses and kitchen supplies for families who have lost their homes and belongings. Health services, including mental health and psychosocial support, community health activities and rehabilitation services for people injured by the earthquakes. Protection services for families, including child-friendly spaces and psychosocial support. Nutrition programs, such as malnutrition screening for children, treatment and referral for acute malnutrition cases, and nutrition counselling. Support for people with disabilities and those recovering from serious injuries. As humanitarian needs in Venezuela remain high, the Humanitarian Coalition is continuing to accept donations for the Venezuela Emergency Response.
