Led by the World Food Programme (WFP), the Logistics & Telecommunications Sector (LTS) was activated in North-East Nigeria in November 2016 in response to the protection crisis. LTS (telecoms area) Nigeria Situation Reports are issued monthly. All references to ‘LTS’ in this report refer to the telecoms area of the sector. Summary Points On 14 July, following a needs assessment and a International Rescue Committee (IRC) and the World Food Programme (WFP) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), LTS Telecoms deployed a CrisisNet Connectivity Kit at Gwange 3 Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) in Maiduguri to support the cholera response with reliable internet for responders, health partners, and facility staff. The LTS team maintained the Damasak Humanitarian Hub’s telecommunications infrastructure, resolving connectivity and technical issues to ensure reliable services for humanitarian responders. On 21 July, LTS opened applications for the 2026 LTS Advanced Radio Training programme, which builds advanced radio communication skills to help participants deploy, manage, and maintain field communications infrastructure.
