HIGHLIGHTS Heavy rainfall and flash floods impacted the eastern, southeastern, and central regions of Afghanistan, causing widespread humanitarian consequences across multiple provinces. The floods affected communities across eastern Afghanistan, including Nuristan, Nangarhar, and Laghman provinces; southeastern Afghanistan, including Paktika, Paktia, Khost, and Ghazni provinces; and the central region, including Kabul, Kapisa, Panjshir, Parwan, Logar, and Maidan Wardak provinces. The disaster resulted in loss of life, injuries, displacement of families, and extensive damage to homes, public facilities, and community infrastructure. WHO, together with Health Cluster partners, has been closely coordinating with local health authorities to support rapid assessments, deploy emergency health supplies and ensure the continuity of essential health services, including trauma care and treatment for injured and flood-affected populations. This will be WHO’s final situation report on the recent flash floods.
