Qatar Charity Launches Health Projects in Somalia to Benefit Nearly 50,000 People

Qatar Charity has launched its 2026–2027 health plan in Somalia, comprising 48 projects across 9 major programs and expected to benefit 49, 834 people. The plan seeks to expand access to essential and specialized healthcare services for the most vulnerable communities. The announcement was made during an official ceremony attended by H. E. Dr. Maryam Mohamed Hussein, Minister of State at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare; Mr. Ibrahim Al Janahi, Qatar Charity’s Director of Development Operations; and Dr. Muna Hussein Hassan, Director General of Banadir Hospital. The event also brought together officials from Somalia’s Ministry of Health, representatives of health institutions, and international partners. During the ceremony, Qatar Charity presented the plan’s main interventions, geographic coverage, and programs scheduled for implementation over the next two years.
