‘Let Freedom Ring’ expo opened at Lok Virsa Museum

ISLAMABAD: Sixteen replicas of the historic Liberty Bell, reimagined by Pakistani artists to reflect their views on freedom, went on display at Lok Virsa Museum on Thursday. The “Let Freedom Ring” exhibition was inaugurated by US Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus and Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi. Organised by the US Mission to Pakistan through its Public Diplomacy Section and Lincoln Corners network, the exhibition features artworks created by artists from across Pakistan on the theme “What does freedom mean to me? ” The decorated bells showcase diverse colours, symbols and styles, highlighting personal interpretations of freedom, identity, creativity and hope. Halus said art and expression connected societies, while Khichi said cultural exchanges helped strengthen ties and understanding between Pakistan and the US. The exhibition will run until July 27 at the Lok Virsa Museum and Pakistan Monument Museum as part of US Mission Pakistan’s Freedom 250 activities marking the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence.
