SBP appoints primary dealers for FY2026-27

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced the appointment of primary dealers and special purpose primary dealers for fiscal year 2026-27. SBP invited applications for selection of Primary Dealers and Special Purpose Primary Dealers for this fiscal year from all eligible institutions. Upon evaluation of all applicants under the criteria laid down in the rules, some 10 financial institutions have been selected Primary Dealers, while two have been selected as special purpose primary dealers. United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, Bank Alfalah Limited, Habib Bank Limited, Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited, MCB bank limited, The Bank of Punjab, Pak Oman Investment Company Limited, JS Bank Limited and Citi Bank N. A. , Pakistan Branch have been appointed as primary dealer. In addition, Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited and National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited have been selected as special purpose primary dealers. Top three performing primary dealers during FY 2025-26 are United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan and Bank Alfalah Limited. According to SBP performance ranking of all other PDs/SPDs during FY 2025-26 will be communicated individually through separate letters. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
