Oil jumps 3%; Brent rises to $90.85 per barrel

Oil prices surged by more than 3 percent in early Asian trading, with Brent crude climbing above US$90 a barrel. Brent crude futures rose by US$2. 75, or 3. 12 percent, to US$90. 85 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures gained US$2. 56, or 3. 10 percent, to US$85. 05 a barrel.
