Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of): Earthquake Response Situation Report #12 (13 to 14 July 2026)

The twelfth Situation Report provides an update on IOM’s response to the 24 June earthquakes in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, covering the period from 13 to 14 July. Highlights Between 13 and 14 July, IOM continued scaling up its multisectoral response in transitory camps and affected communities in La Guaira, with interventions in shelter and site coordination, health, protection, water, sanitation and hygiene, and information management. To date, IOM has reached 5, 774 unique individuals through 8, 844 instances of assistance and services, mainly in health and MHPSS, shelter and site coordination, WASH, and protection. IOM distributed essential items, advanced the installation and organization of transitory camps, and supported the relocation of 31 households from the José María Vargas Sports Centre to other accommodation sites in Caracas. IOM Activities IOM continues supporting transitory camps and affected communities in La Guaira through shelter, site coordination, WASH, health and MHPSS, protection, registration, mobility monitoring and inter-agency coordination. IOM and its partners distributed 517 tarpaulins, 515 kitchen sets and 476 buckets. At the Tanaguarena Golf Course, 120 essential item kits were distributed and the arrival of large-capacity tents was coordinated. The organization of spaces and services also continued at Mare Abajo II and Playa Grande. At César Nieves Stadium and Playa Grande, water supply, toilet cleaning, shower installation, waste management and hygiene promotion activities continued. At the José María Vargas Sports Centre, 14 mobile health sessions have been conducted, reaching a cumulative total of 1, 120 consultations. To date, IOM has delivered 4, 644 health and MHPSS services as part of the response. Registration reached 533 families and 1, 598 individuals at César Nieves Stadium, and 149 families and 445 individuals at Playa Grande. Monitoring also identified the movement of affected families from La Guaira to Amazonas and Santa Elena de Uairén. IOM Planned Response IOM will continue strengthening the management and improvement of transitory camps, the installation of tents and basic services, health and mental health care, protection screening and referrals, and measures to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse. IOM will also continue registration and the monitoring of needs and mobility, as well as support to the Infrastructure and Temporary Accommodation Working Group to consolidate information and coordinate interventions.
