Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of): Earthquake Response Situation Report #11 (10 to 12 July 2026)

The eleventh Situation Report provides an update on IOM’s response to the 24 June earthquakes in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, covering the period from 10 to 12 July. Highlights Between 10 and 12 July, IOM expanded its response in La Guaira through interventions in transitory camps and affected communities. Operations focused particularly on five priority sites: César Nieves Stadium, José María Vargas Sports Centre, Playa Grande, Tanaguarena Golf Course and Mare Abajo II. To date, IOM has reached 5, 312 unique individuals through 8, 227 instances of assistance and services, mainly in health, shelter and site coordination, protection, and water, sanitation and hygiene. IOM continued strengthening protection screening and referrals, the restoration of identity documentation and the updating of population records. In coordination with the authorities, 237 identity documents were renewed at César Nieves Stadium. IOM Activities IOM continues supporting transitory camps and affected communities in La Guaira through shelter, site coordination, WASH, health and MHPSS, protection, registration, information management and inter-agency coordination. At César Nieves Stadium, IOM and Fundación Vivienda Popular distributed 78 kitchen sets and buckets, provided guidance to 49 people and installed an internet network. Twenty-four community showers, seven washing stations and new water supply points were also established. In the El Campito community, 141 kits containing tarpaulins, buckets and kitchen sets were distributed, along with 139 hygiene kits. At Tanaguarena Golf Course and Mare Abajo II, progress was made in installing tents for accommodation, storage and service provision, while bunk beds and mattresses were received to improve conditions for affected families. At José María Vargas Sports Centre, 52 additional health services were provided. To date, IOM has delivered 4, 304 health services as part of the response and continues strengthening medical referral pathways and coordination with Emergency Medical Teams. Registration reached 522 families and 1, 566 individuals at César Nieves Stadium; 129 families and 404 individuals at Playa Grande; and 369 families and 1, 319 individuals at José María Vargas Sports Centre. IOM also introduced a tool for the weekly monitoring of needs in temporary camps. IOM Planned Response IOM will continue strengthening the management and improvement of transitory camps, the organization of distributions, WASH, health and MHPSS services, protection screening and referrals, access to documentation, and measures to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse. IOM will also continue population registration and monitoring, multisectoral assessments, mobility tracking and support to the Infrastructure and Temporary Accommodation Working Group to consolidate information and coordinate interventions.
