US Embassy celebrates creativity and entrepreneurship at Freedom 250 arts showcase

ISLAMABAD – The U. S. Embassy in Islamabad on Thursday hosted an “Arts Entrepreneurship Showcase” at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), bringing together artists, designers, entrepreneurs and cultural leaders to celebrate the role of creative industries in driving economic growth, fostering innovation and strengthening people-to-people ties between Pakistan and the United States. The event formed part of the United States’ Freedom 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence. U. S. The programme underscored the breadth of U. S. -Pakistan cooperation beyond traditional diplomatic engagement, showcasing collaboration in the fields of commerce, education, culture and the arts. Addressing participants, Chargé d’Affaires Baker highlighted the powerful role of creative industries in building lasting connections between nations and communities. She described the textile sector as one of the strongest economic links between Pakistan and the United States, noting that Pakistani exports of finished apparel and clothing products to the American market have averaged more than $4 billion annually over the past five years. S. cotton and other raw cotton inputs each year. She noted that the United States is Pakistan’s second-largest supplier of cotton, reflecting the deep integration of textile supply chains connecting American producers with Pakistani manufacturers and global consumers. She further observed that Pakistan remains one of the world’s leading producers of denim fabric and garments, adding that many jeans sold in American stores may have originated from Pakistani factories. Referring to the iconic Levi’s brand, Baker said the U. S. -Pakistan partnership is woven into the everyday lives of people in both countries through longstanding trade and manufacturing linkages.
