Iran’s Khatam Al Anbiya Central Headquarters has warned Israel of a “harsh response” if it continues acts of aggression in southern Lebanon. In a statement, the Iranian military command said that Israeli forces had violated the ceasefire in southern Lebanon 84 times over the past two days. The statement accused Israeli forces of continuing “crimes” and of targeting civilians in Lebanon, describing the military as a “terrorist army of the Zionist regime. ” It warned that continued Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon would prompt retaliation. “If the child-killing army of the Zionist regime does not end its evil acts in southern Lebanon, it should expect a harsh response from the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, ” the statement said. The Israeli military has escalated its operations in Lebanon since March, according to Iranian claims, in violation of a ceasefire agreement with Beirut and a subsequent Pakistan-mediated understanding involving Tehran and Washington that reportedly included Lebanon in its framework. Iran has repeatedly maintained that any lasting ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon is linked to broader regional negotiations involving the United States.
