Ombudsperson distributes assistive devices among 129 special persons

FAISALABAD – Punjab Ombudsperson Dr. Najma Afzal distributed assistive devices including mobile toilets, white canes and other rehabilitation aids among 129 special persons at the Social Welfare Complex. Social Welfare Department organized the distribution ceremony while Coordinator Social Welfare Rana Waris Hussain, Deputy Director Social Welfare Rehana Yasmin, Assistant Director Muhammad Tahir and other officials were also present on the occasion. During her visit, Dr. Najma Afzal interacted with special persons and reviewed the facilities being provided for their welfare and rehabilitation. She said the Punjab government was taking practical and effective measures to improve the lives of persons with disabilities and ensure their meaningful participation in society. She said the provision of assistive devices was part of a broader strategy aimed at facilitating mobility, independence and social inclusion for special persons. Such initiatives reflected the government’s commitment to safeguarding their rights and addressing their needs through sustainable welfare programs, she added.
