Netflix has released a first-look clip of its upcoming live-action series Scooby-Doo: Origins, currently in production and set to premiere in 2027. The teaser, shared on Instagram, shows Scooby-Doo running through a forest near a summer camp before encountering Shaggy, marking the beginning of their friendship in the reimagined origin story. Filming is underway in Atlanta, with the series described as a modern take on the classic mystery franchise. The main cast includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and McKenna Grace as Daphne Blake. Paul Walter Hauser is also attached in an undisclosed role. According to production details, the story follows Shaggy and Daphne during their final summer at camp as they become involved in a supernatural mystery linked to a lost Great Dane puppy. They are later joined by Velma and Fred as they form the Mystery Inc. team. The series is written and executive produced by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, with Greg Berlanti among the executive producers. Toby Haynes will direct the first episode.
