Agrometeorological Monthly Bulletin for June 2026 across the Northern Tonle Sap Basin of Cambodia

Country: Cambodia Source: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Please refer to the attached file. AGROMETEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS IN MAY 2026 Across much of the district, monthly rainfall was generally below normal compared to the long-term average. This was often seen as fewer rainy days and/or lighter intensities than usual; in wetseason months, this can still represent substantial absolute rainfall despite the negative anomaly. Across much of the district, monthly mean temperature was generally warmer compared to the long-term average. This was typically reflected by warmer days and/or nights and a higher share of warm days/nights than is usual for the month; note that in coolseason months even small absolute increases can meet this category because the baseline is low. The assessment further showed that across much of the district, photosynthetic activity (greenness of vegetation) was generally above normal relative to the long-term average. An assessment of the probability of agricultural drought impacts by combining hazard (SPI, fPAR anomaly, soilmoisture anomaly), exposure, and vulnerability shows that the likelihood of drought impacts on crops and vegetation is negligible at this time; current hazard indicators do not suggest notable stress in combination with local exposure and vulnerability.
