China coal imports fall 14% in April, customs data shows

BEIJING: China’s coal imports fell 14% year-on-year in April, down from 37. 83 million metric tons in April 2025, customs administration data showed on Saturday. China imported 33. 1 million metric tons of coal in April. Year-to-date imports for January through April were 149. 4 million metric tons, down 2. 1% on the year, the data showed. India likely to divest stake worth $1. 06 billion in state-run Coal India, reports China’s coal imports for March were 39. 06 million tons, up 1% year-on-year.
