HIGHLIGHT: In the Philippines, heightened activity of Mayon Volcano triggered a lava collapse that generated pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) along the Mi-isi Gully, followed by a minor strombolian eruption. The event produced sustained ash emissions, rockfalls, and localised ashfall affecting multiple municipalities in Albay Province, including Camalig, Guinobatan, and Ligao. Approximately 280. 3K people (68. 8K families) across 156 barangays have been affected, with lava flows extending up to 3. 8 km from the crater. Authorities have advised residents within an 8-km radius to remain prepared for possible evacuation, while aviation authorities warned against flights near the summit due to ash hazards. Government response efforts have intensified, with the NDRRMC – Office of Civil Defense ( OCD ) leading the coordination, deploying hygiene kits, goggles, water, and fuel assistance, while inter-agency teams conduct road clearing and ashfall flushing operations to ensure public safety and maintain critical access routes. HYDRO-METEO-CLIMATOLOGICAL: For the past week, data from the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre ( ASMC ) indicated medium to high 7-day average rainfall across Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. As of this reporting, INVEST 93W is being monitored about 2, 815 km east of Northeastern Mindanao. According to PAGASA, this system has Medium potential to develop into a tropical depression within 24 hours. Warmer-than-usual temperatures are also forecast over much of central and southern Mainland Southeast Asia and across most of the northern half of the Maritime Continent. There is no increased likelihood of very heavy rainfall across the region. However, there remains a slight increase in the likelihood that extreme heat conditions will persist over parts of the Malay Peninsula. ENSO-neutral conditions are now present.
