May 4th, 2026 ― Doha, Qatar: Under the slogan #MakeTheirEid, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched its seasonal Adahi Project 1447 AH, designed to help the donors offer their ritual Udhiya sacrifice for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha in an effective and timely manner. Once the sacrificial animals (sheep, cattle, or goats) are selected and purchased from QRCS, the organization will be responsible for delivering the donated meat to those in need, both in and out of Qatar, while complying with all applicable hygiene and humanitarian requirements. Being part of QRCS’s #KeepYourBalanceOfGoodDeedsAlive Campaign 1447-2026, launched in Ramadan, this drive involves the distribution of slaughtered and canned Udhiyah meat as food aid to more than 250, 000 beneficiaries in 17 countries (Qatar, Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Niger, Tajikistan, Gambia, Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, and Uganda). In a statement, HE Eng. Ebrahim bin Hashim Al-Sada, Managing Director – Secretary-General of QRCS, extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, all nationals and residents of Qatar, and the Arab and Muslim nations for the approach of Eid-ul-Adha. “During this blessed time of Hajj, we commemorate Prophet Abraham’s Sacrifice of Faith, people forgive and socialize with each other, and family ties are cherished and strengthened, ” said Eng. Al-Sada. “The true joy of Eid is felt only when shared with those in need. Eid-ul-Adha is not only a physical and spiritual act of worship, but also a noble social event that promotes brotherhood and solidarity. By offering their ritual sacrifices and paying to charity, the rich are spreading benevolence and bringing smiles on the faces of the poor”. He added, “For the 10th consecutive year, QRCS is launching its annual Adahi Project, to make it easier for the public to offer their ritual sacrifices. With just a few steps, you can easily choose a country, specify which type of sacrificial animal you want, and pay the price. Then, our specialized personnel will coordinate with partners and competent authorities to conduct the slaughter, preparation, and distribution to displaced and poor people. That way, you win both the reward of sacrifice and paying back to the community”. In Qatar, sacrificial sheep is available at a cost of QR 800 per share, for the benefit of families registered for social assistance. The beneficiaries will be informed to show up at the designated slaughterhouses to collect their aid. Alternatively, home visits will be made to hand the aid over to those who have physical limitations. International, sheep/goat sacrifices will be available in Syria (share value: QR 2, 200), Jordan (share value: QR 1, 677), Lebanon (share value: QR 1, 314), Somalia (share value: QR 370), and Turkmenistan (share value: QR 785).
