I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to draw attention to a pressing issue that demands the immediate focus of our community and policymakers. Water is the primary source of survival for human beings and a fundamental human right. Access to clean water is essential for life; without it, no human being can survive. These realities often sound obvious in developed nations, but not in developing societies. There are many areas in developing countries where people are dying due to a lack of clean water and sanitation. Chaghi is the largest district of Pakistan in terms of land area and natural wealth. It also holds a strategic location, making it one of the most important areas of the country. However, its people do not even have access to clean drinking water or proper sanitation facilities. The residents of this district struggle even for basic drinking water. It is deeply unfortunate that the district which brought pride to the country on the global stage still lacks access to clean water. The population’s only hope for water lies in traditional methods such as wells, hand pumps, and water tanks. Can Ceasefire Bring Peace? People travel five to ten kilometres to access water, which is extremely concerning. I request the Government of Pakistan, especially the Chief Minister of Balochistan, to take practical steps towards ensuring access to water for everyone and to provide the people of the district with their fundamental rights. UMAR KHAN SANJRANI, Chaghi.
