Building Damage Assessment in Ranongga Island, Western Province, Solomon Islands as of 15 April 2026 (Imagery analysis: 14&15/04/2026 Published 28/04/2026 V1)

This map illustrates the structures and buildings damaged by the passage of Hurricane MAILA-26, with the analysis focusing on Ranongga Island. Damage and destruction were identified primarily using Pleiades very high-resolution satellite imagery, acquired on 15 April 2026, and supported by aerial imagery for validation. In this area, UNOSAT identified approximately 320 damaged buildings and 370 potentially damaged buildings. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field. Ground verification is encouraged, and feedback can be sent to the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT).
