Country: Solomon Islands Source: UN Satellite Centre Please refer to the attached Map. This map illustrates the structures and buildings damaged by the passage of Hurricane MAILA-26. The analysis focuses on Simbo Island. Damage and destruction were identified using very high- resolution aerial imagery acquired on 16 April 2026. In this area, UNOSAT identified approximately 600 damaged buildings and 350 potentially damaged buildings. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field. Ground verification is encouraged, and feedback can be sent to the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT).
