Country: Lebanon Source: Amel Association International Please refer to the attached file. Since the intensification of hostilities on March 2, 2026, Lebanon has faced a catastrophic humanitarian situation characterized by massive displacement and a rapidly rising casualty toll. Amel Association, a non-sectarian local organization with over four decades of experience, has activated its nationwide emergency plan to support the most vulnerable populations. Key Highlights of the Appeal: Over 1 million people have been displaced, with Israeli evacuation orders now covering 14 percent of Lebanon’s territory. The Ministry of Public Health has reported 1, 094 deaths and 3, 119 injuries to date. Children are severely impacted, with 121 deaths and more than 350, 000 children displaced. Formal collective shelters are at over 90% capacity, leaving many families to sleep in cars, unfinished buildings, or makeshift tents. There is a critical need for water, mattresses, blankets, and diesel for generators. Amel is operating across different sites (Amel centers, collective shelters, mobile units, households, camps, municipalities) targeting up to 80, 000 individuals per month with essential health, protection, and food security services. To ensure the sustainability of this response, Amel requires at least 800, 000 USD per month. This funding supports vital interventions, including distribution of core relief items such as hygiene kits, primary health consultations, chronic and acute treatments, psychological support as well as recreational activities for children (non-exhaustive list).
