SITUATION REPORT: Manaro Voui Volcano (Aambae, Vanuatu)

Country: Vanuatu Source: Government of Vanuatu Please refer to the attached files. Situation Update Volcanic activity at Manaro Voui on Ambae continues under Alert Level 3 (Minor Eruption). Although roaring and rumbling have decreased, emissions of gas and dark smoke persist, causing intermittent ashfall. South Ambae remains the most affected area, experiencing ongoing minor ashfall and impacts on water sources, gardens, and general living conditions. West Ambae has reported no major impacts but continues to experience occasional light ashfall depending on wind direction. The Penama Provincial Disaster Climate Change Committee (PPDCCC), PEOC, and Area Councils continue to implement the response plan endorsed on 10 March 2026.
