Pakistan relays US-Iran messages as Dar urges diplomacy to end Middle East conflict

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday dismissed what he termed “unnecessary speculation” in sections of the media regarding peace talks on the ongoing Middle East conflict, saying indirect communication between the United States and Iran is underway through Pakistan. In a statement, Dar said Washington has conveyed a set of 15 points to Tehran, which are currently under consideration by the Iranian side. He did not disclose details of the proposals but emphasized that the engagement is being facilitated through message exchanges rather than direct negotiations. The foreign minister said Pakistan is playing a constructive role in de-escalation efforts, acting as a channel for communication between the two sides amid heightened regional tensions. He added that “brotherly countries” including Türkiye and Egypt are also supporting the diplomatic initiative aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability. Reaffirming Islamabad’s position, Dar said Pakistan remains fully committed to promoting peace and will continue efforts to ensure stability in the Middle East and beyond. “Dialogue and diplomacy is the only way forward, ” he stressed.
