PML-N’s Bahawalpur victory reflects public trust: Azma

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has congratulated the PML-N leadership and workers on the victory of PML-N candidate Munir Iqbal Channar in the Bahawalpur by-election. In a statement, Azma Bokhari said that the people of Bahawalpur had once again expressed their confidence in the PML-N. She said Munir Iqbal Channar’s victory by a margin of 39, 000 votes was an acknowledgment of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s performance. The Punjab Information Minister said that after the 2024 general elections, the PML-N, under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, had won all by-elections in Punjab with substantial margins. The people of Punjab are satisfied with the performance of Maryam Nawaz, she added. Azma Bokhari said the people of Punjab were voting for public welfare initiatives such as electric buses, laptops, scholarships, Green Tractors and the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme. The people were also expressing their confidence in Maryam Nawaz’s government through support for electric bikes, electric vehicles, Suthra Punjab and initiatives aimed at beautifying cities across the province, she added. She said that examples of development, public service and good governance were being set in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz’s style of governance had become an example for other provinces, she added. She said that some people still considered chaos and disorder to be the essence of politics. The people of Pakistan had grown tired of the politics of crowds and agitators, she added.
