33 terrorists killed in Balochistan this week: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 33 terrorists belonging to Indian-backed Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan in ongoing counterterrorism operations across Balochistan since September 21, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday. According to the military’s media wing, security forces continued Operation Shaban on September 24, targeting additional terrorist hideouts in the area. During an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed, bringing the total number of terrorists eliminated under Operation Shaban to 22. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorist hideouts. The ISPR said the clearance operation would continue until the threat in the area was completely neutralised. In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Nushki district on September 25, security forces engaged a terrorist hideout, killing 11 terrorists following an intense exchange of fire. The military maintained that the operations were part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign against foreign-sponsored and supported terrorist networks operating in Balochistan. The ISPR reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
