Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Friday, led by losses in energy and utilities stocks, and ended the week marginally up after two weeks of losses. The CSE All-Share index settled down 0. 14% at 21, 037. 35, but rose a marginal 0. 009% over the week after two straight weekly declines. Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC and Tess Agro PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All-Share index, falling 6. 7% and 5. 6%, respectively. Trading volume on the CSE All-Share index fell to 26. 5 million shares from 37. 8 million in the previous session. The equity market’s turnover fell to 814. 9 million Sri Lankan rupees ($2. 47 million) from 1. 20 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data. Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 207. 1 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 801. 1 million rupees, the data showed.
