Abrar Ahmed becomes No 1 T20 bowler in ICC rankings

Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has become the world’s No. 1 bowler in the ICC T20I rankings, displacing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan from the top spot. Abrar has reached the summit of the T20I bowling rankings for the first time, becoming the fifth Pakistani bowler to achieve the feat. Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi have previously held the No. 1 spot in the T20I bowling rankings. Rashid slipped one place to second, while Australia’s Adam Zampa climbed one spot to third. Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz retained eighth place. England’s Jamie Overton made a huge 47-place jump to sixth, while fellow Englishman Liam Dawson climbed 12 spots to 11th. India’s Axar Patel also improved 12 places to reach 15th. In the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza retained the top spot, while Pakistan’s Saim Ayub remained second. England’s Will Jacks climbed three places to third. In the T20I batting rankings, India’s Ishan Kishan retained the No. 1 position, followed by compatriot Abhishek Sharma in second and Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan in third. England’s Harry Brook climbed five places to fourth, while Jos Buttler moved up two places to fifth. In the ODI batting rankings, India’s Shubman Gill retained top spot, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam remained sixth. Ireland’s Harry Tector moved up one place to ninth, while Harry Brook climbed three places to 12th. In the ODI bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid retained the No. 1 position, with Pakistan’s Abrar remaining second. New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner climbed one place to third. In the ODI all-rounders’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai retained the top spot, while Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza moved up one place to second.
